X-Ray Machine Uses And Methods
The x-ray machine is one of the most important devices used in medicine today. Today’s technology allows for an in depth view of the internal organs and bones of the body without having to cut the body open. Professionally trained radiographers to get an x-ray image of the body use it. A variety of x-ray machines are available, to allow doctors to get the results they are looking for. The most common medical fields they are used in are radiography and dentistry.
In Radiography, a fast, deep image is created, usually where there is a need to see the bone structures. A variety of procedures can be accomplished. Tomography is a x-ray done to see sections of the body where as mammography is done to see the breast tissue close up. In Fluoroscopy, instead of just one image, a real time visualization of the body is seen. While not as commonly used in medicine (it is the type of x-ray machine found in airports) it can be used to look at blood vessels, the colon, gastrointestinal tract or to help obtain biopsy of tissues. All x-ray machines must be used by professional, trained users who are able to monitor use so that any negative effects of the radiation is minimized.
