Most Apple fans were familiar with iPhoto. It was one of the major digital photograph manipulation suites available for Apple’s various platforms. The software originally received a great deal of promotion because of the iLife suite of digital management tools. iPhoto was one of the pieces of software that received attention as a result of this marketing campaign. There are separate versions of the
software for the Macintosh and mobile markets. The OS X version allows users to import pictures from digital cameras as well as local storage devices.
Photographs can also come from CDs or videodiscs. Photographs have to be placed into an
iPhoto Library before the software can work its magic on them.
One of the biggest draws that iPhoto offered was the connectivity with the iPod platform. Users could sync any image to an iPod with a color display. This helped people to keep a digital photo album in their pocket. Similar functionality has been provided for those who use other mobile Apple products. Some of these products have actually featured their own versions of the software.
